David Savidge joined Williams Law, PC after working with two AMLaw-100 firms in Los Angeles, California in addition to a small local Colorado firm. David’s practice concentrates on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation. As a trial lawyer and civil litigator, David has represented international and domestic corporate and individual clients in matters involving: • Breach of contract (U.C.C. and common law) • Shareholder/member and director/manager disputes • Trade secrets/Intellectual property • Business torts • Telecommunications rights-of-way/easements • Land use adjacent to and upon Native American land • Insurance coverage • International shipping and cargo • Personal injury • Environmental regulation • Civil rights David has advised and litigated on behalf of clients such as: • A local business owner in a dispute with his fellow LLC members regarding exclusion from the LLC. • An international resort interest in defense of a lawsuit brought by its web developer for breach of contract and violation of the Copyright Act • A software and teleconferencing company against former employees for theft of trade secrets, breach of duty, and fraud • A software developer in a domain name dispute under the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Rules seeking defendant’s divestment of internet domain name based upon service mark and trademark registrations • A defense department contractor in a trade secret and patent license dispute involving claims of interference with economic advantage and interference with contract • An international businessman against a claim of theft of trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duty • A national business directory publisher in numerous advertising disputes, breach of contract claims, consumer protection act claims, and various tort claims • A national telecommunications corporation in contract dispute with cable easement grantor and in land use disputes with Native American tribes • Certain Underwriter at Lloyd’s, London in a complex reinsurance coverage dispute involving claim for terrorism insurance coverage arising out of numerous guerilla attacks on a South America petroleum pipeline • A pharmaceutical corporation in international arbitration seeking damages for losses incurred due to nationalization of joint research and development venture; and against one of the corporation’s merger target in suit for liquidated damages for breach of contract • A major international law firm and attorney in legal malpractice claim and fee collection cases • A preeminent international vessel owner and operator in various tort claims, vessel casualties, and oil discharge prosecutions and in a series of lawsuits involving wake damage to shoreside property. The results included a summary judgment in favor of the client • Individual clients in §1983 excessive use of force cases • International shippers in claims for misdelivery of cargo • Cargo owners in claims for failure to discharge necessitating an arrest of the vessel • Various national and international insurers regarding MTBE claims brought by municipalities and water districts against petroleum producing and distributing assureds and property damage claims Education Tulane Law School, LL.M.
